You’ve heard the news that Girls Gone Child’s Rebecca Woolf welcomed twin girls named the splendly delicious Boheme Shalom & Reverie Lux.   I’ll admit.  I probably spent way too much time thinking what names she would come up.  Her other children are Archer Sage and Fable Luella so I knew they would be fabulous.  And she didn’t disappoint. Boheme is a new name for me.  I have never seen that name as a first or a middle.  The other names I’ve seen pop up a time or two, but all are uncommon names.  Do you love them?

But GGC wasn’t the only blog I was stalking  visiting.  Have you ever visited the site Cakies?  Rubyellen and Ben have three daughters named True, Brave, and Soul.   A bold babynamer indeed.  What would she name her fourth?   Names I thought would go perfect with the older three were Charm, Love, Wit, or Valor.   Nope.  They came up with a one-of-a-kind name.  The family welcomed their fourth daughter, Glow Amorette.   Read the story about how Glow got her name here.

Another blogger over at No Big Dill was expecting her sixth baby.   Katy and Ryan didn’t find out what they were having either and after five girls (Divine, Pearl, Olive, Azure, & Clover), I assumed it would be a sixth daughter for the couple.   But no, Katy & Ryan welcomed a son on September 10th.   They have yet to announce the baby’s name.  Boo!  I hate birth announcements with no names given, but I wonder if they will stick with a word name for a boy or play it safer.  We’ll have to wait and see. What would you use?

More bold baby names (found in birth announcements in the U.S., but not on blogs) include . . .

Anouk Lavender  (Sakura)

Caspian Finn

Cherry Blossom

Golden (boy)

Hoover (boy)

Lovely (girl)

Prairie Dawn Eilonwy (Gideon, Ephraim, & Simeon)

Providence (girl)

Yes, Bec and Hal definitely did not disappoint, of course they didn’t! Boheme and Reverie… sigh… I am particularly fond of Boheme. Like you, I’d never heard it as a name before, but I am really taking a shine to it! And both beautiful such beautiful babies!
I love the names from the other blogs you mentioned, too! Those five girls.. such lovely names! And eyes, while I’m at it. I’m really curious to hear what they name their baby boy. I noticed they referred to him as “our Sun”, and while obviously it’s a pun on the word son, but it is possible that maybe they actually did name him “Sun”? I dunno just a thought.
True, Brave, Soul and Glow are perfect together, and what charming little people they are! So very beautiful! I love that Glow’s middle name means ‘littlest love’. That is so perfect.
Anouk Lavender- so lovely and sweet
Caspian Finn- very strong, almost my ideal boys’ name right now (I would go with Cassian over Caspian)
Prairie is gorgeous, and her brother’s names are fantastic too!

Yes, Boheme & Reverie are both gorgeous babies. I so want twin girls now. 🙂

I know. I keep checking over at No Big Dill to see if she has announced his name yet. Their last baby (Clover) went two weeks before they could decide on a name so it might be a while. I saw that too about Sun and it would fit in on her group, but the name Sun Dill reminds me of pickles and sundials, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I love Glow’s middle name too. Amorette is so sweet. I clicked over because someone mentioned their names(had to check those out), but they are such a sweet, fun family.

Cassian is gorgeous. Love it and Caspian.

I adore Anouk Lavender, sweet and strong at the same time.

Personally…and I’ll probably get flack for this…but I think Boheme & Reverie are, well, ugly names! I love Fable but these two…I just think sometimes people are so caught up in names they don’t think about the name in reality. Again this is my opinion, but I can’t see someone saying “Boheme, wash the dishes!” “Reverie, do your homework!” Not that I’m a fan of common/popular names by any means, these are definitely better than another Emma or Madison. I just think they seem too hipster to function!

I can see what you mean with these names not translating well into everyday life, but the girls also have the nicknames Bo and Rev which I’m pretty sure they’re going by at this point. I think the nicknames are cute and I guess more “usable”, as much as I love their given names.

No flack allowed here. 🙂 We all love, like, dislike, and hate certain names and that is what makes things interesting when it comes to names. Plus, I think a lot of people feel the same way you do. Boheme & Reverie are “out there” names, but I do think they are perfect names for this family. Plus, as Sophia said, Bo and Rev are spunky nicknames for everday use.

      Thanks for commenting.

Fantastic! Glow? Fits beautifully. And Anouke Lavender is perfection. I so wanted my husband to consider Anouke when I was pregnant with Nona! Great post!

Caspian Finn I see more as a normal name actually.

Not surprised to see girls getting the quirky word names, I mean you have Fable, Reverie, Boheme, and then Archer haha. I personally think it doesn’t go well at all.

Oops, forgot about suggestions for the other family expecting a boy.

Here goes: Rain, Ocean/Oceano, Sky, Dream, Lullaby, Horizon, Sequoia, Thunder, River/Rio, Green, Blue/Azul, Red, Peach, Cloud, Sunny, Sahel, Star, Galaxy, Indigo, Angel.

Some are really out there, but I find most of these fitting.

  6. After reading this post I was struck with the idea of whether one could buy a vacuum cleaner or hoover which glows. My mind works in mysterious ways.

On the name Cherry Blossom, I know many females, and one is named Blossom, whilst another girl I know is Charity, but went by Cherry as a kid. Together? Not so sure, but I do love Sakura, which means cherry blossom.

  7. Caspian Finn is very handsome, and Anouke Lavender, lovely!!!

Hmm, yes, maybe Sun or a name that means sun or is associated with sun, like … um … er … Sunny? Not another Lux?
