POP QUIZ (The Answers)

Have you been paying attention? It’s time for a Pop Quiz.  Just kidding.

With unisex names being used more and more,   it’s becoming harder to tell if the baby is a boy or a girl.

Here’s a list of 10 names (5 boys and 5 girls).  Which is which?

THANKS FOR PLAYING EVERYONE!  HERE ARE THE ANSWERS.

Addison Blake (girl)

Emerson Reece (boy)

Emory Bryce (boy)

Grayson Finley (girl)

Kennedy Aiden (girl)

Lyric Ryan (girl)

Taylor Cole (girl)

Taylor Blake (boy)

Tristan Misha (boy)

Winter Lee (boy)

This is hard, right.  There have been some great guesses so far, but no one has gotten all ten.  I’ll help you guys out a little.  Grayson is a girl and Winter is a boy.   Any more guesses and you can guess again if you want.

I will tell you that Grayson Finley is a girl because no one hasn’t gotten that right yet. I would have guessed boy too!

  10. Annelise says:

I’m not going to bother to post my guesses because they were the exact same as Waltzing & AppMtn! Kind of interesting, no?

  11. Skurinksi says:

Maybe you should tell us how many boys and how many girls?

    • Skurinksi says:

Nevermind, just seen its 5/5. I have no idea really, that’s the problem with names becoming unisex, there’s just no telling really.

  17. Skurinksi says:

Well, will you be revealing the proper sexes?

  18. Skurinksi says:

Also, are unisex really being used more? There are new ones girls are taking over, but then 15 years ago there were other unisex names that boys no longer use, like Sydney, Mackenzie, Leslie, Ashley, Tory, Tracy, Kerry, Erin, Shelby, Kelly, Courtney, Madison, Aubrey, Loren, Paris, Dana, Shea, Jade, Jackie, Kelsey, Jessy, Montana, Blair, Jess, Jody, Kennedy, Kirby, etc…

    • Names4Real says:

I think a new crop of unisex names are being used more. Most of those you listed, I would think girl names, even though they started out boy. Although, I still see a couple of boy Sidney, Mackenzie, Kelly, and Shea now and then.

      • Skurinksi says:

Disagree, those are all unisex names, not girl names. They might be a lot more popular for girls (in some cases), but they were all charting in the boys list for decades, some even made it considerably high. There are more men named Leslie over time than women, I guess many people don’t realise that for example.

      • Names4Real says:

You are right that they are technically unisex names, but if they were born today, I would think they were girls just seeing the names, but that’s me. Feel free to disagree with me anytime. 🙂

  19. I’m glad to see Winter used on a boy for a change – I always think it sounds far more like a masculine name than a feminine one.

This truly blows my mind. I wouldn’t want to grow up having people never know if I were a boy or a girl. At least put a gender specific middle name in there to give the poor child a break.
