It’s Oscar time so what better way to celebrate the big night than to showcase some of the names that make Hollywood shine. Ava, Audrey, and Ella are Hollywood glamour girl names, but now they are so popular that even if Audrey Hepburn was the inspiration behind naming your daughter Audrey, it’s not as obvious as say Harlow is. Although, now does Harlow invoke images of Jean Harlow, (born Harlean Harlow Carpenter) or Harlow Winter Kate Madden? That is up to you to decide.
Looking at past and present movie stars, I found these names that say (some louder than others) Hollywood.
GLAMOUR GIRLS
- Aniston
- Bardot
- Hathaway (middle)
- Gardner
- Greer
- Tandy
LEADING MEN
- Brando
- Clooney
- Gable
- Grable
- Jackman
- Nicholson
One more thing. Don’t copy the whole name. It’s too late for the parents of Al Pacino, Grace Kelly, and Angelina Jolie, but if you are thinking about naming your baby, Audrey Hepburn or Clark Gable, knock it off. If your baby is destined for Hollywood, they will make a name for themselves. Naming them the exact name of movie stars won’t do it.
What’s your favorite Hollywood name?

Personally my favourite is Greer for girls and Gable (I assume that’s what “Grable” was meant to be) for boys. I also really like Harlow but I think that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are too famous for it to be used post-Harlow Madden and not bring them to mind, if that makes sense.
Grable was actually for Betty Grable. I just found a boy named Grable so I put him on the boy side. I like Gable too. I meant to add him.
I do understand, but I’ve seeing more and more baby Harlows so not everyone feels that way.
